Large Pale Purple Weed Vase with Sgraffito Decoration sterling but have a slight hunch

but have a slight hunch they may be Korean and would guess they date from the 1940s or early 50s

the likeness of which I have seen described as an apothecary mortar for preparing herbs and as a measuring cup

The box measures 6 1/2" long by 3 3/8 inches wide and deep and is in great vintage condition

it feels rather like it should be displayed on a pedestal

Large Pale Purple Weed Vase with Sgraffito Decoration sterling but have a slight hunchA big, beautiful weed vase, with a nice fat, round body, lovely pale purple glaze, and banded sgraphitto (incised) decoration around the shoulders. This vase, signed with what appears to be Turner on the bottom, would be fantastic for a giant peony or lily, or a sprig of lilac. In excellent vintage condition, with no visible flaws whatsoever. 6 widest diameter, 4 3 4 tall; 3 1 2 across at base; 1 2 at opening.
