and I believe is carved from caribou antler

which may have been the vehicle through which this piece was sold

Exquisite Little Pair of Antique Carved Santos Hands (Mismatched but Lovely Together) mid-century drawingh and perhaps the abstracted figureSo delicate and graceful, very old, very lovely. These hands clearly came from two different carved santos figures, but I found them together, so offer them as such, and of course two hands are better than one! Finely carved of wood, with gorgeously aged polychromed surfaces, 19th c. or earlier, and one just feels more serene in their presence! Larger is 3 1 4" l; smaller 2 7 8" l. Both in beautiful antique condition, sound and not fragile.
