Description

19th century New England I believe

facing in alternating directions from one row to the next

Painting: 14" x 11

The twigs still show their original white paint and are joined by tiny nails--and I think they wed most perfectly with the red-painted plank seat

I believe this wonderful vintage turned wood trinket box with hand-painted fish on top is likely one of a kind

Terrifically Graphic Vintage Folk Art Bunny Doorstop make do folk art 19th century New England IWhat a bunny! I purchased this from a collector in Chicago, and thought at first it was by a known artist looking to me like a bit of a cross between R. A. Miller and David Butler, and reminding him of the Chicago Imagists but the maker is unknown and it seems most likely just an especially inspired, marvelously graphic folk creation. Feels to me like the sort of bunny that's creatively plotting surprises in the shadows, rubbing yellow paws together
